TRAINING DAYS: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. TIME: 4pm - 6pm

Tuesdays, Thurdays and Saturdays. TIME: 7am - 10am.

That is where Heelands challenge football club comes into its element. We recognised the problems players have and decided to do something about it.
Heelands challenge football club has been up and running since august 1999 and have been highly successful. Over 150 youngsters have been on the course, ranging from 8 - 18 years of age. Most clubs have a football academy. These academy's nurture young players. These young players come into the clubs academy at a very young age and the clubs over the years will look after them in terms of their football career.

The problem that these academies have is if the youngster does not make the grade. If the youngster does not make the grade, a lot of the clubs has no more use for these "so called" youngsters and many are thrown on the scrapheap. Football clubs have a kind of "convenor belt" system, that only the best can survive. Heelands challenge football club is totally different from many of the professional clubs academy.

We at heelands challenge football club equip our youngsters to work in all aspects of the football industry. This may include going into sports management, coaching, refereeing, football agent and the many sports related industry. We have a training programme that has been developed by our coaches trained under the supervision the oyo state coaches football association that is geared to fitness. We work alongside our local ibadan football association and sport development department and offer football training to youngsters not just of excellent football talent, but from the lesser footballers, who enjoy just playing football and want to work in the football/sports industry. We have an excellent educational programme, that can fast track youngsters to a coaching badge and all our youngsters are encouraged to further their education. This is a priority of the course.

Heelands challenge football club have now set up a football league for youngsters from 8 - 18 yr olds. Youth league is to find the next generation of footballers. All youngsters receive:-

• specialised individual football programme.
• specialised football health check
• dedicated individual programme assessing skills and abilities
• football focused career guidance and personal training development
• opportunity to demonstrate their football ability to a football agent, with the intention for youngsters to progress to a professional club;

Have added an educational basis to our programme.

This programme will help in the endeavour that the youngster does not make the grade. The programme also gears the youngster to other areas within the football industry, such as coaching, refereeing, fitness instructor, football administration and management. We have teamed up with heelands rangers football club u.k. whereby we help to fast-track youngsters into football coaching.

Any scout, manager, who wants contact with one of our young players, first contact will always be through heelands challenge football club who will in turn verify the interest is genuine and only then will an appropriate introduction be made.
There are hundreds of footballers out there of all ages who want the opportunity to show off their skills and prove to clubs they had the talent to make it as players at some level in the game, we knew we had to do more

heelands challenge football club is now looking at running assessment days where member's football skills can be assessed by our experienced and qualified football coaches.

How am I assessed?

Members will be assessed on various skills such as shooting, dribbling and passing and will be presented with a detailed personal assessment folder. This document highlights strengths as well as areas for improvement, whilst also providing a certificate of attendance.
